Another car discovered on my nightly run. This Mercedes 300SD (probably a '92 or a '93) is parked behind an insurance office, and obviously has front-end damage. Also, the clearcoat is peeling so badly that the roof looks almost furry . The inspection sticker expired in June '12, and the registration sticker expired in Aug '13, so I think it's been sitting for awhile. Tires still have some air in them, though.

I feel like with some front-end bits pulled from a pick-your-part yard, this old diesel Merc could come back to life. What do you think?

Now I'm getting ideas about respraying it Spruce Green Metallic and swapping out those rims for brushed AMG monoblocks. Unfortunately, I don't know a thing about car repair, and an S-Class is so not the place to start. :)

if it was really abandoned I would have it towed up no problem. Though Mercedes and getting a key cut through them is a PITA

this makes me so sad. i love these cars as much as they day is long. Seeing this gentle giant sleeping, and not terrorizing people on the road, is unfortunate
